After being invited to talk at the General Meeting of the German Association for Manufacturers of Flexible Flooring (FEB), the AGPU Managing Director Thomas Hülsmann attended the event in Berlin early October and used the opportunity to present the work of the PVC experts from Bonn and promote active involvement in the working group. The FEB currently represents around 15 member companies and 20 supporting members. Most flooring manufacturers use PVC as their preferred material for their flooring products.

AGPU was also represented at the PVC Plastisols Conference at the SKZ in Würzburg. At the event, Thomas Hülsmann gave a talk in which he presented the importance and meaning of emotional stories and facts concerning PVC to participants and discussed the question of what is advancing the industry in the current environmental debate.

AGPU members have free access to the presentations and many thousand other documents in the PVC-Wiki knowledge database.

AGPU’s online services enjoy an increasing amount of popularity on the World Wide Web. This is reported in the latest annual review for 2014, which was presented by AGPU Managing Director, Thomas Hülsmann, at the „PVC and Environment“ workshop in Bonn, Germany last week. According to the review, the PVC WIKI, the AGPU homepage and the PVC Recycling Finder website were all particularly successful in recording growing numbers of visitors. The review reveals that last year, nearly 14,500 visitors accessed information on the AGPU website alone.

The PVC Wiki, AGPU members‘ exclusive knowledge bank, is enjoying great popularity two years after it started. With nearly 300 registered users and currently around 7,000 pages of content, for many AGPU members the PVC Wiki is now required weekly reading – whether to download linked documents from the PVC Ticker or to search requests and market data. According to statistics, each visitor visits about seven pages per month. In the period from January until May 2014 the AGPU knowledge base was accessed more than 2,000 times.

Also after the „PVC and the Environment“ workshop of AGPU and PlasticsEurope Germany, there were some requests regarding log-in information which of course were answered promptly. If you too have colleagues in the company to whom PVC Wiki might be of interest, simply forward the latest issue of PVC Bulletin or send us an e-mail with the relevant contact details, addressed to Michael Friedrichs. Thank you!
