Last week, the joint „PVC and the Environment“ workshop hosted by AGPU and PlasticsEurope Germany took place at the Collegium Leoninum hotel in Bonn. The response to the event has been huge and over 70 participants attended the first workshop of the year.
The workshop focused on the following topics: After the regular overview about actual PVC situation and AGPU-activities architect Katja Bernert (Mehler Texnologies) presented the advantages of PVC-coated membranes in textile architecture. Ulrich Schlotter (BKV) reported on the discussion concerning the new German Law on Recyclable Fractions (Wertstoffgesetz). Dr Berthold Schäfer (German Building Materials Association (BBS)) explored the impact of the German Resource Efficiency Programme (ProgRess II) in the construction sector. Other speakers included Jan Mervart (DEZA), who talked about DEHP and REACH; Dr Ivo Mersiowsky (Quiridium), who explored the topic of eco-efficiency on the basis of PlasticsEurope eco-profiles, and Tilman Benzing (VCI), who discussed the bioeconomy strategy of the German Federal Government.
The upcoming summer workshop will take place in Frankfurt am Main on 31st May.
