The next Prowindo Annual Meeting was due to take place on 6th May 2015 in Berlin under the motto „Plastic Recycling – opportunities, barriers and solutions to establish Circular Economy in Europe“. As a result of the current discussion in Germany on an exception for the recycling of scrap windows, the Prowindo team of AGPU, Rewindo, EPPA, QKE, proK and SKZ has decided to postpone the event until 25th/26th June. The topic will enter a crucial phase over the next few weeks, partially due to the intensive involvement of Prowindo. Resolutions on the matter are expected to be passed at the end of May/beginning of June.

More information on the Prowindo Annual Meeting will be announced soon.

The next joint „PVC and the Environment“ workshop hosted by AGPU and PlasticsEurope Germany will take place in Frankfurt am Main on 9th June 2015. The invitation was sent out by e-mail this week.

Stephan Tan from PVC4Pipes will present news about “PVC Pipelines For A New Age”.

Participants can also make the most of the networking opportunities available at the dinner held on the evening before the workshop. Please contact Ms Iris Pohl at the AGPU office for the complete agenda and further details.

„PVC IS STRONG“ is the slogan of the new advertisement for the current Soft PVC Communication Campaign being run by AGPU Media, already published in the business magazine „BRAND EINS“ in its April edition for the first time. The design, which was commissioned by the steering committee of sponsors of the campaign, shows a young woman working out with two dumb bells with a light green PVC coating. The new advertisement will also appear in the May/Juni issue of the Germanwings inflight magazine and in the architecture magazine „MADEby“, which will be released mid-May.

Would you like to receive more information on the current Soft PVC Communication Campaign? If so, please contact Mr Thomas Hülsmann or Ms Ursula Losem, who are looking forward to your request.

According to estimations made by the German Specialist Association for Manufacturers of Flexible Flooring (Fachverband der Hersteller elastischer Bodenbeläge – FEB), overall sales of flexible flooring in Germany increased by a total of 5.1 percent last year in comparison to 2013. PVC design flooring recorded particularly strong growth, followed by cushion vinyl (CV) flooring. Both product categories overcompensated for the declines in sales of homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC flooring and for the declines in sales of other flexible non-PVC flooring such as linoleum and rubber flooring.
